    DESCRIPTION
    The Division of Teacher Education offers three paths to earning a Master of Special Education degree. The programs are designed to develop master teachers who will be prepared for instructional and leadership roles in special education. All three programs are NCATE accredited and participants are eligible for Florida in-state tuition waivers. All three programs lead to eligibility for Florida Teacher Certification.

    Comprehensive Masters in Special Education, M.A. - Students in this Master抯 degree program have 21 semester hours of required core courses. Students must also complete at least 15 semester hours of a generic Special Education Cognate program of study.

    Comprehensive Masters in Special Education with Reading Endorsement, M.Ed. - Students in this Master抯 degree program have 21 semester hours of required core courses. Students must also complete at least 15 semester hours of a Reading Cognate program of study to earn the reading endorsement.

    Comprehensive Masters in Special Education with ESOL Endorsement, M.Ed. - In addition to a Masters degree, this program leads to initial teacher certification with a ESOL endorsement. This is accomplished through an additional 18 hours of undergraduate courses with an emphasis in content certification and ESOL. Additionally, students in this Master抯 program complete 21 semester hours of required graduate core courses. Students must also complete at least 15 graduate semester hours of a generic Special Education or other Cognate program of study.

    UWF has designed our online courses so that students can fully access the course materials with a 56K dial-up Internet connection. At the same time, UWF courses include interactive materials to improve student learning and retention. For this reason we strongly recommend that students use a broadband (DSL or cable) Internet connection. ArgoNet: ArgoNet is your unique UWF identification for services such as e-mail, Internet connectivity via University dial-up lines, centralized file storage, web page hosting, the Argus web portal, and your eLearning courses. Argus: Argus is our secure web portal where you will access not only your personal and enrollment information, but also your eLearning courses, student news and events. NAUTILUS Card: This is your UWF identification card needed for library access and which also can be used for student discounts and as photo identification. John C. Pace Library: As a UWF student, you will have access to our library's many resources as well as access to 14.000 titles on netLibrary. The library can be reached at 850-474-2462, via email and online. OWL: Online Writing Lab is available to assist online students with paper and term paper readings. The request link is located within the eLearning system. Bookstore: Textbooks, supplies and UWF merchandise are all available online through our Bookstore.     ACCESS TO FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES
    Fee Waiver Availability. Waivers to cover the out-of-state portion of assessed tuition and fees are available for qualified students enrolled in this online program. Note: Waivers must be requested and eligibility confirmed every semester � renewal of waivers is NOT automatic. For more information or to apply for the waiver, visit the Online Campus website. Students may also be eligible for financial aid. The Financial Aid Office (FAO) is located in Building 18. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday - Friday. The telephone number is (850) 474-2400. The purpose of the Financial Aid Office is to help eligible students meet educational costs while attending UWF. Understanding the financial aid process is critical. You probably have many questions about what you can expect and what is expected of you.
