Development Specialization is designed to prepare students to plan,
supervise, conduct, and evaluate training programs in business,
industry, and government. The Career and Technical
Studies/Vocational Teacher Education Specialization offers training
in vocational program development and vocational teacher education.
The teacher education sequence prepares students to work in
vocational high schools.
SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
- This program covers the 60 semester hours of upper division
course work. Students should have completed an AA or AS degree prior
to application to this program. UWF has an articulation agreement
with Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ) who offers the
lower 60 semester hours online. Local school districts grant
vocational certification in Florida. This program will assist you in
gaining certification, but you must first consult the district in
which you wish to obtain certification to determine their exact
requirements.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- UWF has designed our online courses so that students can fully
access the course materials with a 56K dial-up Internet connection.
At the same time, UWF courses include interactive materials to
improve student learning and retention. For this reason we strongly
recommend that students use a broadband (DSL or cable) Internet
connection. With high speed Internet access you will have more time
to devote to your studies and spend less time waiting for a file to
open or download. For more information on technical requirements,
visit our web site.
