    DESCRIPTION
    The Master of Public Health with a concentration in Public Health Practice is a college-wide interdisciplinary program designed to prepare experienced health professionals to assume leadership roles as members of multidisciplinary teams and to be able to effectively develop, implement and evaluate programs that have an impact on the health of the public. This degree provides a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge important for effective health professionals working in public health settings. Students in the program will gain skills related to: public health practice, epidemiology, program analysis and inference from data, development of programs that take into account cultural, social, economic, ethical and legal factors, community-based health policy, program planning and budgeting and management.     SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
    Students may apply for the degree or take classes as a non-degree seeking student. USF provides a non-degree option for students who would like to register for classes on a space available basis to enhance their skills. This option may also be selected by students who are in the process of applying to the College of Public Health but who do not have all of their admission requirements completed. For these students, a maximum of 12 hours and grades of "B" or higher will be transferred towards your degree the semester your acceptance is validated.
    TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
    Students enrolled in on line courses at USF must have an active USF e-mail account, a USF NetID, and reliable Internet access. You may check whether or not your browser is compatible with the software used for distance education at the distance education web site.
    ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
    A NetID, available to enrolled USF students allows students to access learning resources online, including the USF Library. For more information please call 1-866-974-1222 or e-mail help-ac@usf.edu. The Library can be reached at 813-974-2729, or by email. The Bookstore may be reached by calling (Toll-Free: 1-800-873-8114.) Books may be ordered online. The bookstore and library are able to accommodate online learners and provide detailed information on the web site.
    ACCESS TO FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES
    Financial aid opportunities can be discussed with your program advisor. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 813-974-4700 for exceptions and the names of private lenders. Check the website for additional information. In order to be considered a full time graduate student for financial aid purposes ,a student must taken 9 semester hours of graduate level work per semester.

    ACCESS TO ADVISING/MENTORING SERVICES
    Students will have access to program staff for all pre-advising and advising issues. Students will be assigned to a faculty advisor towards the end of their program to collaborate on special project and field experience.

    SPECIAL ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
    Students can complete almost all degree requirements for the online MPH with minimal on-campus requirements. On-campus requirements will be no more than one calendar week.

    Three years of health-related experience is required.
