    DESCRIPTION
    The University of South Florida抯 Industrial & Management Systems Engineering Department offers a certificate in technology management for individuals with technical backgrounds who desire to move into management.
    The certificate program enhances students� ability to successfully manage in a highly competitive global environment. The required fifteen semester hours in five courses will strengthen students� engineering credentials while developing managerial competency. Courses are offered on the Tampa campus or online via the APEX engineering distance learning system at USF.
    Individuals seeking the certificate need to be accepted to a specific program at USF to earn the certificate. Students who wish to apply these courses toward a degree program should contact that department for information and prior approval.
     
    SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
    This certificate requires completion of five (5) courses for a total of 15 semester hours. No more than 12 credits may be applied; however, students must receive prior approval from the department for certificate classes to be applied toward a graduate degree program. Prospective MSEM students must meet all entrance requirements for the MSEM program before the course(s) will be transferred. Additionally, no class will be considered unless at least a "B" grade was obtained.
     
    TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
    Distance students must have a computer with WMP 10 and a high speed internet connection.
    ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
    Classes are streamed live and archived for a period of two weeks after each class offering convenient, on-demand viewing. You MUST apply for admission to the Industrial Engineering department and once admitted, register through APEX as a webcast or live broadcast student in order to be eligible. Also, a NetID will be required in order to access the University Web Portal (Blackboard) which will allow access to University online services and, most importantly, the course materials posted by your instructor. The NetID, available to enrolled USF students allows students to access learning resources online, including the USF Library.     ACCESS TO FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES
    Financial aid opportunities can be discussed with your program advisor. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 813-974-4700 for exceptions and the names of private lenders. Check the website for additional information. In order to be considered a full time graduate student for financial aid purposes ,a student must taken 9 semester hours of graduate level work per semester.

    This certificate requires completion of five (5) courses for a total of 15 semester hours. The student must obtain a grade of "C" or better in each class for it to be applied toward the Certificate. Students pursuing a graduate certificate will be required to meet the same academic requirements as those defined for degree-seeking students to remain in "good standing." Required courses: (6 semester hours)
