    DESCRIPTION
    The University of Florida抯 Au.D. Degree program combines the professional experience of the College of Health Professions with the academic excellence of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The goal of the Au.D. curriculum is to produce educated professionals who, upon graduation, are able to function and work independently in a comprehensive audiologic practice.

    The Working Professional Au.D. Program is a flexible program designed to provide working audiologists with the complex and diverse skills necessary to meet the challenges of the dynamic healthcare marketplace. The nine-course program is designed for working professional audiologists who have completed the clinical fellowship and have either ASHA certification or state licensure. The entire degree program can be completed in 18 months.

    Students are required to have a computer meeting the minimum requirements of the University of Florida College of Health Professions and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

    ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
    Distance students should first contact their program administrator for academic advising. You may talk to a librarian by telephone, email or by instant messaging. You can also call toll free.(1-866-281-6309). Detailed information from all the libraries can be found on the web site. The Health Science Center Library can be reached at (352) 392-4011 or by visiting the website. Library West- the Circulation/Reserve Desk can be reached at 352-392-0345 and online. Material and supply fees are assessed for certain courses to offset the cost of materials or supply items consumed in the course of instruction. Material and supply fee information is available from the academic departments offering the course. To obtain materials, you must contact the specific academic department or college. They have the materials or will direct you to where you need to go to purchase the materials. Books may be ordered online or by calling the bookstore at 352-392-0194 or 800-226-3015.

    SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
    Every effort is made to accommodate a student's first choice of regional sites as listed on the registration forms. However, if this is not possible, you will be assigned to your second choice. If you do not indicate a second choice, after all other site assignments are complete, you will be offered a choice of remaining available sites.

    There are many sites with more than one facilitator, and all sites have the potential for more than one facilitator based on student enrollment. In these sites, all student-to-facilitator assignments are made randomly and are subject to change with each course. While students may continue at one site throughout the course sequence, student groupings within these sites WILL vary from course to course.

     
    SPECIAL ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
    Each course consists of two full-day, mandatory regional site meetings, the first day of the course and the last day of the course. The meeting days are always held on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, there are weekly evening discussion group sessions via the internet, and participation is mandatory.
    SPECIAL PROGRAM PREREQUISITES
    Audiologists who have earned a master's degree from an accredited institution and hold ASHA certification and/or state licensure are eligible to apply for admission to the Program. In addition, students must meet the minimum requirements of the UF Graduate school with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
