    DESCRIPTION
    The program will emphasize the special issues involved in providing case management services to rural populations. Case management is one of the fastest growing fields in health care today. Case managers are needed in all aspects of health care delivery; hospitals, home health, long-term care, HMO抯, PPO抯 and insurers to name just a few. This innovative program in case management has been designed to prepare you to compete successfully in the case management job market of the 21st century. This cooperative program with UAB and UAH will use the state抯 intercampus interactive telecommunication system to offer the program at locations throughout Alabama.

    This MSN program of 35 semester hours can be completed in one year of full-time study with the availability of part-time study as well.
     
    SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
    There are no special issues.
    TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
    * A baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program;

    * A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale overall or last 60 units;

    * A GRE of 1000 on 2 parts (verbal and quantitative) or 1500 on all 3 parts (verbal, quantitative and analytical);

    * Three letters or recommendation;

    * Verification of the successful completion of an undergraduate course or equivalent in statistics/research;

    * Evidence of basic computer literacy;

    * Current RN licensure in the US and eligibility for Alabama license; and

    * Two years experience in nursing practice prior to beginning the program.
