    ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
In response to the increasing numbers of our students taking distance learning courses (FAU Distance Education & Instructional Technology), the FAU Libraries has created web pages to assist, direct and enlighten our students. Our goal is to provide the distant learning student access to the same resources that our regular campus students have at their disposal to conduct their research. FAU students taking distance learning courses will find that the FAU Libraries maintains subscriptions to an ever-growing electronic collection of periodical databases, many of which contain full-text articles. We have also linked reference sources for your use on the Electronic Reference Shelf and even an experienced Web surfer will find our list of selected up-to-date Internet Tools helpful.
Please contact one of the many librarians in the Reference Department by sending us any of your question by e-mail, by phone, or by fax. CONTACT: Ask A Librarian! E-Mail Reference Desk is linked and the phone number is Phone: 561/297-3785 (voice-mail), Fax: 561/338-3863. All FAU students and faculty may check out items at any of the FAU campus libraries using their Owl Card. The 14-digit number ("21976," minus the A's) on the bottom of the card is your library card number. In order to activate your library privileges, fill out the online library card application. You will be contacted by email with your library card number and the Owl Card will be sent to you in the mail. Once you have checked out materials, you may also view and renew your FAU library items online. To do this, go to the Online Renewal Service. FAU students and faculty also may check out materials at all other Florida state universities and community colleges, thanks to a reciprocal borrowing agreement. If you have any questions or problems using your library card, please call the Circulation Desk at 561-297-6911.
The bookstore can be reached at 561-297-3720. The Florida Atlantic University Bookstore ~ 777 Glades Road ~ Boca Raton, FL 33431, or by email at fau@bkstore.com. Textbooks may be ordered online.
