Senior Services Supervisor
Salary: $27.07-$33.05 hourly / $4,708-$5,747 monthly / Range:
DEFINITION: Under general direction, to supervise case management
services for the Multipurpose Senior Services Program; and to
perform related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Recruits, selects, trains, directs, and
evaluates the work of subordinate staff providing client intake,
referral, and assistance services to the elderly; conducts out reach
programs in the community to explain program goals and procedures
and solicits referrals; receives, screens, and assigns client
referrals to staff; reviews and approves all case service plans;
maintains records of referrals, referred sources and the disposition
of the referrals; maintains systems to ensure timely reassessment of
client's cases; reviews changes in State and County directives in
program policy and procedures and advises staff as necessary;
provides the administrator with routine updates of the program
status; participates on multidisciplinary committees for the
improvement of seniors' health, safety, and quality of life.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Possession of a master's degree from an
accredited college or university in social work, psychology,
counseling, or gerontology, and two years of subsequent case work
experience including one year as a supervisor.
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is
Knowledge of: counseling and psycho-social assessment techniques;
case management techniques; medical and psycho-social problems, and
needs of the elderly; performance management and staff development.
Ability to: formulate, implement and evaluate program policies and
procedures; communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing;
supervise effectively; understand, interpret and apply Federal,
State and local laws, rules and regulations; effectively resolve
differences and problems with contract services providers.
