Salary: $20.13-$24.57 hourly / $3,501-$4,274 monthly / Range:
DEFINITION: Under direction, operates a variety of computerized
and manual radiological equipment for diagnostic purposes; and
performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Using proper radiation protection and
precautions, prepares and operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, and
portable equipment; positions patient to obtain appropriate
radiographic exposures; operates film processing equipment;
maintains computerized records, files, and/or reports; participates
in quality control and quality assurance studies; assists the
supervising radiologist with administrative functions.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Registration as a Certified Radiologic
Technologist (CRT) in the State of California, and registration with
the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is required
at the time of application.
Knowledge of: anatomy and physiology; current trends and techniques
of x-ray technology.
Ability to: position patients for a wide variety of diagnostic
examinations; learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use
computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for
recordkeeping purposes; establish effective working relationships
with patients, and staff.
Supplemental Information: Incumbents must be able to work stand-by
and call-back duty, and respond to a call within 30 minutes.
Desirable Qualifications: Possession of a CPR certification, one
year of experience, and ability to speak in English and Spanish is
