Housekeeping Services Leader
Salary: $13.21-$16.13 hourly / $2,298-$2,805 monthly / Range:
DEFINITION: Under direction, in a lead capacity, to direct the
activities of Housekeeping Services Workers in performing cleaning
duties; to keep an assigned area of a facility clean and orderly;
and, to perform related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This is a single position class in
which the incumbent performs in lead capacity in housekeeping
services in a health care facility.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Organizes and directs the work of Housekeeping
Services Workers in performing coordinated special team projects;
confers with supervisor regarding care and cleaning of hospital
interiors and other assigned areas; assists in the training of
Housekeeping Services Workers; maintains cleaning equipment in good
order; assists supervisor in the control and inventory of linens;
performs regular housekeeping duties; acts as Housekeeper in the
absence of the Housekeeper; requisitions supplies.
1. One year of janitorial, custodial, or institutional housekeeping
2. one year performing duties equivalent to the class of
Housekeeping Services Worker or Janitor with Santa Barbara County;
3. equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: methods, materials, and equipment used in
institutional housekeeping work.
Ability to: understand and follow written and oral instructions;
direct and train others; do manual work.
