Salary: $11.42-$13.94 hourly / $1,986-$2,425 monthly / Range:
DEFINITION: Under general supervision, drives an automobile,
delivery or light truck, or bus; transports and delivers personnel
and supplies; performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
1. Drives an automobile, delivery or light truck, or bus; transports
supplies and personnel to various destinations throughout the
county; checks vehicle tire pressure and fluids such as oil and gas;
adds fluids and air as necessary; reports potential mechanical
problems to supervisor;
2. Loads and unloads supplies from vehicles; uncrates shipments and
stores supplies in storeroom or warehouse; collects requisitioned
items from storeroom inventories to fill orders;
3. Compares information on requisition or invoices to shipments
received or issued to verify accuracy of order; completes
requisitions, inventory or other forms as needed.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Equivalent combination of training, education
or experience that would provide the required knowledge and
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License at time of
appointment. Some positions may require possession of a Class B
Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one during the
Appointees to those positions requiring a Class B license will be
subject to mandatory testing for drugs prior to beginning work; once
on the job, incumbents will be subject to mandatory testing for
alcohol and/or drugs on a random, reasonable suspicion,
post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up basis.
Knowledge of: the operation and minimum maintenance of light
vehicles; the appropriate sections of the California Motor Vehicle
Ability to: operate light motor vehicles safely and efficiently;
perform light manual labor; follow oral and written instructions;
compare product names and numbers; use and complete forms and logs;
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: May be required to work evenings or weekends
during a declared emergency situation.
