Salary: $13.47-$16.44 hourly / $2,342-$2,859 monthly / Range:
DEFINITION: Under general supervision, to keep assigned building
interiors clean and orderly; to perform a variety of custodial and
minor building maintenance duties as assigned; and to do related
work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Sweeps, scrubs and mops floors; strips, waxes,
buffs and seals floors; vacuums and shampoos rugs; washes, dusts and
polishes furniture, woodwork and shelves; empties and cleans waste
receptacles; cleans walls, fountains, windows, and restrooms;
replenishes supplies; turns out lights and locks doors and windows;
reports necessary repairs; cleans and maintains equipment and
material used in work; may supervise inmates on custodial tasks; and
may perform variety of building maintenance tasks including moving
furniture and equipment, replacing lights and air filters,
assembling shelving, performing minor repairs and other similar

Knowledge of: the methods, materials and equipment used in
janitorial and minor building maintenance work.
