The full-time program engages students in comprehensive classroom and experiential learning. Students are transformed by an integrated curriculum that bolsters the mastery of fundamental business disciplines through cross-functional application. Students learn the ways business functions relate to one another, and how singular decisions affect overall company success. Applied projects, internships and case competitions allow students to immediately apply new knowledge. During the first year of the program, skill development is grounded in fundamental disciplines such as accounting, finance, economics, marketing, supply chain management, ethics, statistics and management. Strategy courses both launch and conclude the first year, emphasizing the development of innovative business solutions that lead to competitive advantage. Between the first and second years, students are strongly encouraged to complete an internship. The school maintains relationships with many businesses and corporations, and works with students to ensure a successful internship experience. During this time students can begin applying the new knowledge and skills they have developed to the demands of business and industry. For their second year of study, students structure a learning experience that addresses their individual goals. Courses selected from diverse focus areas in the second year complement the deep foundation of primary business knowledge built in the first-year core curriculum. Students have the opportunity to specialize in one or more business disciplines. In pursuing the W. P. Carey MBA, students prepare for a lifetime of learning and success, ready to lead in business and the community. Upon enrollment, students join a substantial alumni network that immediately becomes a valuable personal and professional resource.
