MBA Internships - An Opportunity for Growth
The MBA Internship Program is an intensive 10-12 week opportunity
that provides work within a fast-paced and challenging environment.
MBA Interns contribute to meaningful projects, interacting and
working side by side with biotech industry experts. Our internship
program also provides a robust speaker series, which allows interns
to hear from top executives throughout the summer.
The Commercial Organization functions to maximize market
opportunities for our products and better meet the needs of
patients. Building upon the solid foundation of the product
performance and the opportunity afforded by our robust pipeline, we
strive to be a "Market Maker." We pride ourselves on our ability
to build innovative strategies to effectively address patient needs,
as well as strengthen initiatives within the organization.
Product Management is responsible for developing strategic and
tactical plans for in-line and pipeline products, as well as leading
assessments of new compounds coming out of research and business
development opportunities. Brand Teams are intricately involved in
and lead cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet
customer needs and are well positioned against the competition.
Internship opportunities are available within the product Marketing
teams working on projects related to Medical Education, Promotions
Market Development's mission is to participate actively in the
commercial planning efforts by providing objective, in-depth
information about current and future markets, product performance,
customers, and competitors for the US and ex-US businesses. Market
Development provides strategic recommendations for teams around
publication and pricing strategies, and deliver and manage the
revenue forecasts across the organization. Market Development
identifies critical issues and opportunities for growth, collaborate
with our teams, and work to embed an external market point-of-view
into the strategic direction of the company for products at all
stages of the lifecycle and across therapeutic areas. An internship

Product Development, Portfolio Planning Group
The Portfolio Planning Group (PPG) supports the Product Development
organization and reports under the Product Portfolio Management
(PPM) department whose mission is to lead, manage and develop the
cross-functional project teams that drive drug development systems,
and directs strategic analyses that enable decisions to maximize the
overall portfolio value. PPG supports strategic decision-making
through portfolio analysis and reporting.
Previous Portfolio Planning interns have performed pipeline
simulations, portfolio performance benchmarking analyses, and
pipeline risk assessments. We may also have projects related to
product lifecycle analysis and new investment options.
Preferred qualifications include but are not limited to:
. 3-5 years of work experience prior to graduate school in
marketing, sales, consulting or finance
. Prior work experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or
. Prior work experience in oncology, immunology and vascular markets
. Strong quantitative and analytical skills
. Excellent communication, presentation and written skills
. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively with diverse
professionals in a team environment
