TOEFL iBT: TOEFL Internet-Based Test
TOEFL iBT stands for Internet-based Test. Like traditional
paper-based test, the TOEFL iBT also tests four areas: speaking, listening, reading,
and writing. The TOEFL iBT became available in 2005 in United States,
Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Puerto Rico.
Most students take the TOEFL exam because they are applying for
admission to universities in the Untied States or other English speaking
countries. The schools use the TOEFL results to evaluate the English
proficiency of applicants.
