- If you have conjugations to learn, I suggest studying them
long term. Get yourself familiar with all the different tenses and
forms by going over one tense each night. It doesn't have to be for
very long, just so that the words will sound familiar to you. Most
importantly, make sure that you don't start studying them the night
before. If by the night before the test you don't know the
conjugations that will be on that test, then you'll' need to devote
about 20-30 minutes studying them. First, write out the conjugations
about five times. Then, do as many exercises in your textbook as you
can. After that, write them out and say them aloud about five or six
more times. Look at paragraphs in your textbook or other materials and
try to identify different verb tenses that way, too. Finally, make a
study sheet that you can look at during the day leading up to the test
in order to imprint the verb forms and spellings in your mind.
- For all other kinds of grammar, you should do as many exercises
out of your book as you can. The more practice, the better. Read
everything you can about the grammatical construction you need to know
over and over until you get it. If you find that you need more help
understanding something, ask the teacher if he/she has any tips that
can help you learn the material.
