Please accept this as a letter of application for the Research Associate position advertised in the June 10th edition of the Denver Post. I recently graduated from Colorado College where I majored in biology. In addition to my education, I have experience working as a research assistant and data processor.

As a research assistant for the Colorado College Biology Department, I developed many of the laboratory skills required for this position. These include gas and liquid chromatography, and nuclear magnetic and infrared spectroscopy. My supervisors have often complimented me on my ability to easily explain complex procedures. While earning my degree I participated in an environmental research study investigating the effects of pigmy lizards on Costa Rican rain forests. My strong background in biology is supplemented with data entry and customer service experience. During summer breaks, I worked in a retail department store entering daily sales figures and assisting the manager with customer complaints. In this position I was able to utilize my attention to detail and learn how to work in a dynamic, team oriented environment.

I am interested in working for Biology Research of America because of its strong reputation as a research company. I hope to contribute to your rising reputation and one day command my own research through your institution.
