ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
- Library Internal Resources: These include monographs (over 3,500
cataloged titles), journals (over 220 active subscriptions), theses,
and dissertations. External Resources: searches. If this proves to
be inadequate and a sufficient amount of information cannot be
located at the Academy library, a final option is interlibrary
loans. As a full-fledged member of OCLC, the world's largest
bibliographic database, we have access to over 24.8 million records.
The USSA library can request books, articles, papers, conference
proceedings, dissertations, and theses from almost 5,000 member
institutions. Due to our membership in the Network of Alabama
Academic Libraries (NAAL), we can borrow this material at no charge
within the state of Alabama. However, if it is borrowed from outside
the state, the student is responsible for all charges. These usually
range from $3.00-$5.00 for articles and $5.00-$10.00 for books.
Students must allow 2-3 weeks for these materials to be delivered,
so deadlines are very important. There are fees for searching the
library via CD-ROM, internet, and interlibrary. For more information
about the library, please visit the website at: www.ussa.edu.
