- The University of North Alabama administers and coordinates
financial assistance from various sources to benefit UNA students.
The Office of Student Financial Services provides information,
publications, and counseling. Prospective students may inquire by
calling 256-765-4278. Most students at UNA--like college students
across the country--depend on some type of financial assistance to
pay for college. Virtually all UNA students who complete the
application process receive an offer of financial assistance from
the University. Financial assistance is offered to qualified UNA
students in the forms of grants, scholarships, student loans,
part-time jobs on campus, and numerous private and government
programs. Often, a combination of these forms of financial
assistance is used to meet financial needs. UNA's goal is to offer
sufficient funds to make it possible for students to meet all costs
related to attending the University. Our Student Financial Services
staff is well-qualified and highly interested in helping you obtain
the resources necessary to attend and graduate from UNA. A tuition
multiple payment plan is available to help you spread your payments
and make it easier for you to meet your financial commitments. The
University participates in numerous State programs and coordinates
assistance from many private sources; however, most financial
assistance offered at UNA comes from the basic federal programs:
Federal Grants: Pell, Supplemental (SEOG), Federal Loans: Perkins,
Stafford, Supplemental, Parent, Federal Work Study. UNA strives to
keep the application processes for both the federal and University
programs as simple as possible. To be considered for the federal
programs and the Alabama State grant programs, you are asked to
complete and return the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) to the University. Information collected and processed from
this form is used by the University to prepare and offer you the
best award package. Please call the Office of Student Financial
Services 1-800-TALK UNA for more information about Financial
Assistance or visit our homepage.
