DESCRIPTION
- Alabama抯 LL.M in Taxation Program is one of the most innovative
in the country. Though the use of video-conferencing technology it
bridges the gap between traditional distance education and live
classroom instruction. Students may interact with professors during
class times at one of the many site locations and may also access
course materials and video-streams on a web-site or communicate with
instructors and other students through chat rooms and by email.
Alabama抯 Tax Program is also unique in that it offers practicing
lawyers an educational opportunity to obtain an advanced degree in
tax law without having to pay the expense of living in residence.
Courses in the program are taught by distinguished faculty and
experienced practitioners not just from Alabama but also from
instructors at Emory, Georgia State and other institutions or law
firms throughout the Southeast. The instructors provide an in-depth
but broad-based curriculum in tax

ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES
- Before the start of each semester, L.L.M. students may use
credit cards to order their books from the law school bookstore.

ACCESS TO FINANCIAL AID RESOURCES
- Out-of-state students may apply for a scholarship through the
Academic Common Market. To be eligible for the Academic Common
market, you must be a resident of a participating state, the state
must not offer its own LL.M in Taxation and you must maintain a 3.0
in the program.
Although the Law School does not offer other scholarships, the
program offers a tax research course which also permits students be
1/2 time and thus be eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
