DESCRIPTION
- To meet the needs of the distance learner, the Master of Arts
degree in Rehabilitation Counseling is offered through the College
of Continuing Studies and the College of Education at The University
of Alabama. Courses are delivered on the main campus, at the Gadsden
Center and at various locations throughout the state through
Distance Education. Off-campus courses are offered live through
interactive videoconferencing at selected sites. Off-campus students
participate in courses as they are taught on campus and, through
this technology, can interact with the instructor and other students
located around the state.
Rehabilitation Counseling is a specialization within the counseling
profession, which emphasizes services to individuals with
disabilities. Rehabilitation Counselors work with persons with
disabilities to assist them in reaching their fullest social,
personal, and vocational potential.
