DESCRIPTION
- This A.A.S. Degree program option provides an opportunity to
learn skills to become MOUS certified. The program emphasizes
development for software application skills related to word
processing, spreadsheets, database management and presentations.
Participants may be eligible to take the Microsoft Office User
Specialist certification tests in any authorized testing center.
SPECIAL ENROLLMENT ISSUES
- In addition to the A.A.S. degree program, short-term certificate
and diploma programs are available. Courses completed for these
short-term programs may then be applied to the requirements for the
A.A.S. degree.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS. You will need access to a
computer, an Internet provider, and a facsimile machine. Minimum
hardware/software requirements include: adequate hard disk space for
Office 2000 plus an additional 40 MB hard disk space for Pinpoint
Training software; 16 MB RAM minimum, 32 preferred; 4X CD player or
higher; color VGA video display; 56 K modem; Netscape Communicator
or Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or higher); Windows
95/Windows 98/Windows NT 4.0; Windows-compatible mouse or pointing
device; Office 2000 installed;

The card catalogs have been replaced with online catalogs. Many
periodical indexes formerly available only in paper format are now
available on the computer, some with full-text of the articles
themselves. There are also search indexes available on the Web.
