Online Master of Science (MS) Degree in Education - Reading and Literacy
Our master's degree specializations are designed to increase your
professional depth and effectiveness in diverse educational, corporate,
traditional, and online settings.
This online master's degree specialization prepares K-12 classroom
teachers to assess literacy and to develop, implement, and adapt reading
curriculum to accommodate diverse learning styles. This specialization
is offered in partnership with the University of California, Irvine
Extension. Upon graduation, learners will receive a Master of Science
from Capella University and a reading certificate from UC-Irvine
Extension. This certificate is approved by the state of California and
is aligned with nationally recognized teaching standards established by
the International Reading Association (IRA).
State regulations vary regarding course requirements for professional
licensure. For answers to questions about professional licensure,
learners should consult with their home state's licensing authority and
a Capella enrollment counselor.
