The Art Institute Online

The history of The Art Institute Online begins with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, which was founded in 1921, more than 85 years ago. The Art Institute Online was launched in the year 2000 as a division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and offers 14 creative-focused academic programs.

The Art Institute Online, a division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, is a part of The Art Institutes, with 32 education institutions located throughout North America, providing an important source of design, media arts, fashion and culinary professionals. Student enrollment exceeded 66,000 as of fall 2004.

The Art Institute Online is a division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, which is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to award Bachelor of Science and Associate of Science degrees.
