Spread across four locations in central Colorado, Colorado State
University offers several highly recognized programs. The main
590-acre campus is located in Fort Collins, but also available are a
799-acre agricultural campus, a 1,703-acre foothills campus, and the
1,192-acre Pingree Park Mountain Campus.
Colorado State has one of the top three veterinary medicine
programs in the country, and the graduate-level Atmospheric Science
program is also ranked among the best available. The College of
Natural Resources is also nationally recognized and ranks first in
the country in female and minority student enrollment and the top
number of graduating international students.
Other programs offered include: biotechnology, cell & molecular
biology, infectious diseases, neuronal growth & development and
animal reproduction.
With an undergraduate population of 15,534, a graduate population
of 3,088 and a faculty of 1,391 the university offers a
student/faculty ratio of 13:1.
A variety of on-campus housing is available, including male,
female and coed dormitories, many with "special interest" floor such
as voluntary alcohol-free areas and other special arrangements.
Married on-campus apartments are also available.
Colorado State advances strong minority advocacy programs
including El Centro for Hispanics which make up 4.2% of the overall
population. The total minority population is about 9.2%.
