Our full-time MBA program is a two-year educational journey that
will take you through the American Airlines Global Leadership
Program (AAGLP), the Business Leadership Center (BLC) and the
Associate Board Executive Mentoring Program. In addition, our
various peer interaction activities will give you the opportunity to
openly exchange ideas, develop concepts, and test theories with
classmates, who will challenge you and in the process help you
become a better leader. Through the American Airlines Global
Leadership Program, you and your classmates will travel to China,
Europe, or India for two weeks to meet with business leaders and
government officials, tour corporate campuses and research parks,
and immerse yourself in the local culture. Taught by industry
practitioners, not professors, the Business Leadership Center (BLC)
is where academic theory and real-world experience converge. Many of
our students say the BLC was the deciding factor in choosing SMU
Cox. Recruiters consistently tell us, when all other qualities are
equal among candidates, they look for strong leadership and
communications skills to set top candidates apart from others.
Through the BLC, you move beyond the textbook and receive
specialized team-building training and one-on-one coaching that
gives you a distinct advantage over candidates from other schools. A
mentor from the Associate Board Executive Mentoring Program can
guide you through the MBA program and your career search. Many
mentors are SMU Cox alumni and are familiar with the experience. As
a participant in this program, you will rub elbows with an elite
group of 200-plus business leaders from some of the most prominent
companies in the DFW Metroplex. Executives serving on our Associate
Board provide you with the contacts, career advice, and industry
insight that only experienced professionals can offer. It is easy to
see how valuable this program can be to the advancement of your
career.
