Product Manager Job Description
The Product Manager works closely
with the Group Product Director, in the development of products from
conception through production. Emphasis of this position is on new
product development and project management.
BUILDS REVENUE
Develop product initiation forms. Manage execution of project
against timetable. Coordinate efforts through R&D, Sourcing, Package
Design, and product development. Calculate IMU's and weighted
averages.
Complete marketing request forms for Packaging. Track and check
marketing. Write product information sheets for marketing.
Work with Store Communication and Product coordinator to develop
selling tips for register messages and new product launch kits and
training materials.
Work with planning and allocation to recommend actions to Group
Product Director and VP.
Work with planners on total level department strategy for MPC.
Develop seasonal plans and inventory analysis. Analyze on order for
new product. Develop markdown forecasts.
BUILDS TALENT
Work to train and develop staff.
BUILDS ORGANIZATIONAL CAPABILITY
Responsible for managing a multi-functional team to insure products
are in-store on time and on budget. Run weekly team meetings with
R&D, Product Development, Safety/Regulatory, Design.
Support GPD in researching financial and market data.
Monitor trends by reviewing magazines, and competitive observation
during store days.
Follow-up on quality issues report
Some domestic travel. Store visits 2 days per month.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree required, MBA optional
Three to seven years of experience in marketing with emphasis on
product development of home fragrance, fragrance driven products
Strong proficiency in Word and Excel
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Must have strong decision-making and problem solving skills
Must have a sense of urgency and be deadline-oriented
Must have strong analytical skills
Must have strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
