Deputy Director Market Research Job Description
Responsible for the conception, analysis and conduct of U. S.
Marketing Research programs to provide management with accurate,
timely and relevant business strategy conclusions and
recommendations to support Marketing/Sales and R&D decisions. This
information will be used to manage the company's portfolio of
products, to evaluate licensing opportunities for related products,
and manage the competitive product strategies. Product lines may
include a large portfolio of existing products and business
segments, which use multiple and varied external secondary
databases. The Manager's proactive assessment of marketing research
needs is critical to the marketing success of corporate projects.
The incumbent directs the activities of and sets priorities for the
personnel that he or she manages, incorporating long-term strategic
thinking into the process with the goal of maximizing profits to the
corporation.
Requires an MBA or other advanced degree in fields such as Life
Sciences, Economics or Public Health or equivalent experience.
Minimum of ten years marketing research experience in international
or US at least four of which are in the pharmaceutical industry. A
minimum of one year supervisory and/or marketing research training
experience, or equivalent background. Requires a high degree of
skill and experience in all aspects of secondary research using more
than 15 different audits as well as thorough knowledge of
questionnaire design (to elicit qualitative and quantitative
feedback without introducing bias), and data analysis including
technical approaches such as conjoint, perceptual mapping, logit
analysis and factor analysis. The incumbent must have the ability to
interface with high levels of internal management. In addition, the
position requires coordination of projects with diverse groups and
an ability to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and in
writing.
Requires an MBA or other advanced degree in fields such as Life
Sciences, Economics or Public Health or equivalent experience.
Degree beyond MBA or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum of ten
years marketing research experience in US or international, at least
six to eight are in the pharmaceutical industry. A minimum of three
years of supervisory and/or marketing research training experience,
or equivalent background. Incumbent must have a sound knowledge of
company products, PDU products in development, multiple markets,
marketing activities and objectives. Incumbent must be able to work
with a high degree of independence, plan, organize and implement
multiple projects within time and budget constraints. Must be able
to read and comprehend scientific and legal documents, publications
and reports. |
