Job Summary:
Incubated under the umbrella, H*Works was founded in January
2000 as the cornerstone of our offerings. Working from 100+ best
management practices surfaced in research each year, the H*Works
staff helps medical centers deploy and implement the 'best of' the
best practice ideas on-site, within the institution. New to our
product portfolio in 2004 is a service offering assistance to
hospitals and health systems in improving revenue cycle performance
through a web-based business intelligence tool. The tool translates
financial data into easily accessible dashboards and reports,
allowing staff to partner with hospital executives in identifying
opportunities to increase cash flow, streamline internal processes,
and bring about significant improvements to the bottom line.
We seek a health care consultant with
significant revenue cycle experience to join our practice. As a
member of this team, you will have the opportunity to develop
national class revenue capture systems at leading hospitals across
the country.
Specific responsibilities include:

Present best practice research briefings and
educational sessions to clients on root causes of health care
denials, underpayments and proven best practices in denials
recovery and improved revenue cycle processes

Direct client collection of qualitative and
quantitative data to assess current revenue cycle performance,
benchmark against best practice metrics, and quantify improvement
opportunity

Lead client discussions and meetings to
present analysis and facilitate client decision making to select
improvement tactics

Oversee best practice installation support

Monitor engagement progress; answer questions
and devise solutions to client problems

Review and approve support documentation,
work plans, and other deliverables

Coordinate client assignments; monitor client
satisfaction; assure engagement efficiency and quality; manage
continuous improvement process

Participate in new product and service
conceptualization, planning, and business development
-
Approximately 80% travel required. Position
is located in our Washington, DC, office.
Preferred Background:
-
Expertise in revenue cycle management gained
from experience in one or more of the following settings: health
care consulting firm, management role in provider setting,
management position in firm that provides accounts receivable or
other revenue cycle services to hospitals.

Masters Degree in business, healthcare
administration or equivalent professional experience.
